Using LEADTOOLS Viewer Controls in Visual Studio for WinRT (Windows Store)

The LEADTOOLS Viewer Controls provided by the Leadtools.Controls assembly can be added to the Visual Studio 2012 toolbox. To add the LEADTOOLS controls to the Visual Studio toolbox, follow these steps:

1. Start Visual Studio, and either open an existing Windows Store application project or create a new one using one of the Windows Store project templates.
2. Right click on the Visual Studio toolbox, and select Add Tab from the context menu.
3. Type "LEADTOOLS" for the name of the new toolbox tab.
4. Right click on the new tab in the Visual Studio toolbox, and select Choose Items... from the context menu.
5. In the Choose Toolbox Items dialog, select the Browse... button.
6. Browse to the location of the LEADTOOLS Controls dll (Leadtools.Controls.dll), select the file and click the Open button.
7. In the Choose Toolbox Items dialog, click the OK button.

Once you have added the LEADTOOLS Viewer Controls to the Visual Studio toolbox, you can then use them in your application.

Note: Visual Studio will NOT automatically add all of the required references to your application when you add an instance of the LEAD Viewer Control to your application's UI. You must add those references manually. After you have added the viewer control to your UI page, you must add the following required references to your project:

• Leadtools.Kernel.winmd
• Leadtools.winmd
• Leadtools.Converters.winmd

NOTE: If you application needs to use LEADTOOLS file format support, image processing support, etc., these references must be added as well. For example, to support loading PNG files, you must add:

• Leadtools.Codecs.Kernel.winmd
• Leadtools.Codecs.winmd
• Leadtools.Codecs.Png.winmd
