SetPresentationContextID Method

Summary
Sets the ID for a Presentation Context.
Syntax
C#
Objective-C
C++/CLI
public void SetPresentationContextID(
   int index,
   byte id
)
- (BOOL)setPresentationContextID:(uint8_t)ID atIndex:(NSUInteger)index error:(NSError **)error NS_SWIFT_NAME(setPresentationContextID(_:at:));
public:
void SetPresentationContextID(
   int index,
   byte id
)

Parameters

index
Index of the Presentation Context whose ID is to be set.

id
Presentation Context ID. The ID provides information about both the class type of the data and the Transfer Syntax to use when transferring the data. It must be unique. It should start at 1 and it must be odd (1, 3, 5, _).

Remarks

A DICOM Associate (Request or Accept) can have multiple Presentation Contexts. The ID for each of these Presentation Contexts must be unique. The IDs for the Presentation Context entries for the DICOM Associate should start at 1, and must be odd. For example, a DICOM Associate may have three Presentation Context entries. One of those entries should have an ID of 1. The IDs must be unique. (Having two Presentation Context entries with an ID of 3 is not valid.) Therefore, the IDs may be 1 for the first Presentation Context, 3 for the next one and 5 for the last one.

Example

This is a comprehensive sample that shows how to use DICOM associates both on the SCP (server) and the SCU (client) sides.
