IltmfCapture::put_Volume

Summary

Sets the volume level of the audio stream .

Syntax

#include "ltmf.h"

Language Syntax
C HRESULT IltmfCapture_put_Volume(pCapture, Volume)
C++ HRESULT put_Volume(Volume)

Parameters

IltmfCapture *pCapture

Pointer to an IltmfCapture interface.

long Volume

Volume level to set. Possible values range from -10000 to 0.

Returns

Value Meaning
S_OK The function was successful.
<> S_OK An error occurred. Refer to the Error Codes or the HRESULT error codes in the MediaFoundation documentation.

Comments

Full volume is 0, and -10000 is silence. The scale is logarithmic. Multiply the desired decibel level by 100 to get the proper value for newVal. For example if you want a volume of 100 dB, set newVal to 100 X 100 or -10000.

Audio stream

The portion of the file holding the audio data. The audio data might be compressed to save disk space. The data has to be decompressed using an audio decompressor before you can play (hear) it.

Audio decompressor

Software component which decompresses audio. It must be designed to work with ACM or DirectShow. Note that different compression methods require different decompressors. There is no universal decompressor capable of decoding all compressed streams.

Required DLLs and Libraries
