L_EmbossBitmap

#include "l_bitmap.h"

L_LTIMGEFX_API L_INT L_EmbossBitmap(pBitmap, uDirection, uDepth, uFlags)

Applies an emboss effect to a bitmap, letting you specify the depth and direction of the effect.

Parameters

pBITMAPHANDLE pBitmap

Pointer to the bitmap handle referencing the target bitmap.

L_UINT uDirection

The direction of the apparent light source. Valid values are:

Direction Value
EMBOSS_N [0]
EMBOSS_NE [1]
EMBOSS_E [2]
EMBOSS_SE [3]
EMBOSS_S [4]
EMBOSS_SW [5]
EMBOSS_W [6]
EMBOSS_NW [7]

L_UINT uDepth

The apparent depth of this three-dimensional effect. Valid values are 0 to 1000, with 500 as normal.

L_UINT32 uFlags

Reserved for future use. Must be 0.

Returns

Value Meaning
SUCCESS The function was successful.
< 1 An error occurred. Refer to Return Codes.

Comments

To update a status bar or detect a user interrupt during execution of this function, refer to L_SetStatusCallback.

Example

For complete sample code, refer to the CHILD.C module of the DEMO example. This example loads a bitmap and embosses it.

L_INT EmbossBitmapExample(L_VOID)
{
   L_INT nRet;
   BITMAPHANDLE LeadBitmap; /* Bitmap handle to hold the loaded image. */
   /* Load the bitmap, keeping the bits per pixel of the file */
   nRet = L_LoadBitmap (MAKE_IMAGE_PATH(TEXT("ImageProcessingDemo\\NaturalFruits.jpg")), &LeadBitmap, sizeof(BITMAPHANDLE), 0, ORDER_BGR, NULL, NULL);
   if(nRet !=SUCCESS)
      return nRet;
   /* Emboss with northeast direction and average depth */
   nRet = L_EmbossBitmap(&LeadBitmap, EMBOSS_NE, 500 , 0);
   if(nRet !=SUCCESS)
      return nRet;
   nRet = L_SaveBitmap(MAKE_IMAGE_PATH(TEXT("Result.BMP")), &LeadBitmap, FILE_BMP, 24, 0, NULL);
   if(nRet !=SUCCESS)
      return nRet;
   //free bitmap
   if(LeadBitmap.Flags.Allocated)
      L_FreeBitmap(&LeadBitmap);
   return SUCCESS;
}
