Overview of DICOM Storage Server Framework SDK Technology
The DICOM Storage Server Framework uses the high-level PACS Server Framework as a service application (daemon) and implements the following DICOM Services as a service class provider (SCP/Server):
- Verification service (C-ECHO, DICOM Ping)
- Find service (C-FIND) - Patient and Study Query
- Move service (C-GET, C-MOVE) - Patient and Study Retrieve
- Storage service (C-STORE) - Full Level 2 DICOM Storage Service for all standard SOP classes
- Storage Commitment service
- Modality Worklist service (MWL)
- Modality Performed Procedure Step service (MPPS)
In addition, the LEADTOOLS DICOM Storage Server Framework implements the following real-world functionalities and customizable add-ins:
- Easily customizable user interface
- Abstract Data Access Layer (DAL) design that works with any database
- Handle simultaneous TCP/IP client connections and view them live in the Server UI
- Efficient large query performance through pagination and lazy loading
- Export DICOM data sets and DICOMDIRs with or without anonymization
- Logging Add-in that supports many filtering and searching options, including automatic export of logs
- Patient Updater Add-in that includes a patient/study management client that allows users to move, merge, and update patient information using DICOM communications
- Auto-Copy Add-in that automatically routes retrieved DICOM image data to multiple storage locations
- Gateway Add-in that acts as a query/retrieve proxy, automatically relaying a single query/retrieve message to any number of external DICOM servers
- Forwarding Add-in that allows DICOM image data to be automatically forwarded to another PACS server immediately upon storage or on any schedule
- Microsoft Message Queue to communicate with other services on the network
- Enable C-Move for anonymous connections
- Administrative options, including permissions for both users and AE titles
- Apply custom aliases to AE titles
- On-the-fly transfer syntax re-encoding based on established association
- HL7 Listener Service and Patient Updater Service
- Optional external cloud storage Add-ins for EMC Atmos and Microsoft Azure
