LPRGBQUAD pPalette (with CRF_USERPALETTE)

The palette that you supply is an array of RGBQUAD values. The RGBQUAD structure (defined in WINDOWS.H) has four one-byte fields as follows:

LBitmapBase::ColorRes maps the bitmap's pixel values to the palette entries that are not reserved. In the last field of the RGBQUAD structure (rgbReserved), you can enter the following flags to control whether the function maps any pixel values to the entry:

Value Meaning
RGB_RESERVED [0x01] Do not map any pixel values to this entry. Use this flag if you want to reserve the entry for later use.
0 Map pixel values to the color that you supply.
