Returns a pointer to a structure that contains the item with the specified tag.

Parameter

Description

nCode

A tag. A pointer to the item in the Data Element Tag Table that has this tag will be returned.

Returns

!NULL

A pointer to a DICOMTAG structure that contains the item with the specified tag.

NULL

There is not an item with the specified tag.

Comments

As an example, if you call this function with nCode set to TAG_STUDY_DATE, and the Data Element Tag Table filled with the default values, the DICOMTAG structure pointed to by the returned pointer will contain TAG_STUDY_DATE, 0x00080020, 0xFFFFFFFF, "Study Date", VR_DA, 1, 1, and 1.
