This week we have released a free Annotations and Markup demo app on Google Play and the Windows Store for use on your Apple, Android, WinRT and Windows Phone devices.

As a reminder, LEADTOOLS has many additional demos available for iOS, Android, WinRT and Windows Phone including features such as OCR, Barcode, DICOM and more. If you are a mobile application developer, you can see first-hand how LEADTOOLS works on your devices. As an additional benefit, they serve as a living example of how using LEADTOOLS will have positive effects during the approval process for your app's respective stores.

One of our favorite things to do at LEAD is be a part of making the world a better place to live through our technologies. As an SDK company, we enjoy a much broader reach than our local community since we get to be a part of many projects and ideas that our customers are coming up with. For example, LEADTOOLS DICOM and PACS technologies aren't serving just a couple local hospitals, but thousands of hospitals around the globe. That's literally hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of X-rays, CTs, MRIs, and the like displayed by LEADTOOLS.

If you have been following the news at all the past several months, it's been rather violent. In response, local governing bodies are starting to do more to increase security measures through printing and scanning ID cards for children and families that attend public events, or implementing stricter ID protocols at bars. Our sales and support teams have been getting a lot of questions about how LEADTOOLS can help these municipalities and socially aware developers with improving security.

There are many reasons why Linux administrators are die-hard fans, and Linux will remain a viable option to host services for many years to come. Recognizing the many benefits of Linux, LEAD Technologies has released a major update to its LEADTOOLS for Linux offering, which is available in its LEADTOOLS Document and Medical product families. With these features now available, Linux developers and administrators can leverage LEAD Technologies’ years of experience to build and host modular, enterprise document services on secure and stable Linux servers.

The LEADTOOLS Document Viewer services can now be hosted on Linux as Java services. The LEADTOOLS Document Viewer includes rich document-viewing features such as text search, annotation, memory-efficient paging, inertial scrolling and vector display of files such as PDF, SVG, DOCX and DWG/DXF in HTML5 applications.

LEAD Technologies has released a substantial upgrade to its LEADTOOLS version 19 products that touches a wide range of technologies including OCR, document imaging, medical imaging, and PACS. Read our press release for more information on all the features included with this upgrade. As you will see, this release is jam-packed with new features and enhancements. That’s why over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be highlighting specific sets of features from the release here on our blog, so stay tuned!
