LEADTOOLS Virtual Printer C API Introduction

Summary

The LEADTOOLS Virtual Printer C API allows printer output to be captured from any application and exported as EMF data. The unique vector properties of EMF provides substantial flexibility, enabling print jobs captured by a LEADTOOLS Virtual Printer to be converted to document formats such as PDF, Word DOC and text, as well as any of the 150+ raster image formats supported by LEADTOOLS.

• Programmatically install and un-install virtual printers to a target system.
• Control access to the printer by locking it for use only by an application.
• Configure the virtual printer to start a user-defined application by specifying the EXE in the PRNPRINTERINFO structure when a print job is received.

• Using LEADTOOLS Raster Imaging C API, allows the export of the captured print job as any of the supported raster image formats.
• Allow network printing between server and clients, offering complete support for the Microsoft Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). Programmers can easily create a custom network- or web-based client-server printing application. Users can install a network printer on a server machine and print to it from any client machine.
