removeClass Method

Summary

Removes the specified class string from the HTML or SVG element's current class list.

Syntax

JavaScript Syntax

removeClass = function( 
   element, 
   className 
)

TypeScript Syntax

static removeClass( 
   element: HTMLElement, 
   className: string 
): void;

Parameters

element

HTML or SVG element to remove the class from.

className

The class string.

Remarks

RemoveClass will first internally call HasClass to avoid duplicate work.

Like HasClass and AddClass, this method also works with browsers that do not support the HTML element classList property. This method will throw an error if the element is null or undefined.
