The Advanced PDF Compressor Plug-in includes the PDF Write Plug-in plus optimized compression options with MRC (mixed raster content). In essence MRC allows you to segment a document into regions and apply the best possible compression to the different regions. For example, JBIG2 can be applied to bitonal sections and JPEG2000 can be applied to the color image section.

The LEADTOOLS Advanced PDF Compressor produces highly optimized PDF files. This is accomplished by utilizing the superior LEADTOOLS compression algorithms to produce highly compressed PDF files while maintaining the best file quality possible. The PDF Compressor relies on the Mixed Raster Content (MRC) technology, which allows the segmentation of a specific image into many smaller segments. The smaller produced segments will then be compressed one at a time with the best compression algorithm possible for that specific segment. The result is many segments in an image; each one of these segments is actually compressed with the best possible algorithm which ultimately produces a PDF file with best quality and best size.

$image\sqrblit.jpg$ Provides control over the compression types that will be used with each type of segments. For example, the user of the PDFCompressor can choose to use the FAX CCITT G4 compression type to handle 1 bit/pixel segments.

$image\sqrblit.jpg$ Background detection is supported. The user can enable background detection which should try to determine the background of the provided image. In that case, the PDF Compressor will NOT store the background segments which will result in a more compact PDF files.

$image\sqrblit.jpg$ Background is created using shapes instead of image segments. This reduces the size of the resulting PDF file effectively.

$image\sqrblit.jpg$ Control over 1Bit and 2Bit segments detection: The user can choose to favor 1Bit segments over 2Bit segment and vice versa. The user also can choose to force 1Bit segments over 2Bit segments and vice versa as well.
