Color scanning is slow using LEAD 13.0 but is fast in twacker

I have several VB6 applications that use LEADTools Document Imaging Suite 13.0. When scanning in color, if select 100dpi, it's fast enough. The higher the dpi, though, the slower it gets. At 400dpi, it takes about 10 seconds after the page has gone through the scanner for the screen to refresh with the scanned image.
I tested the same settings using Twacker and it was very fast, even at 400dpi. I can't upgrade my LEAD image controls so I have to make color scanning faster using version 13.0. I would greatly appreciate any help. Toni.

Version 13 of LEADTOOLS had 2 types of Twain support:

1. Old set of functions, which are similar to previous versions of LEADTOOLS.

2. New functions based on the Twain 1.9 specification.

Since
you own Document Imaging Suite, if you use the new set of functions, you can
optimize scanning speed using the Fast TWAIN features. For more information,
see the help topic "Fast TWAIN (Scan Configurations)" in the LEADTOOLS 13 Twain COM object help file.
