Leadtools.ImageProcessing.SpecialEffects Namespace : PerlinCommand Class

Uses a pseudo-random number generator in order to create a Perlin noise, and then procedurally transforms that noise into a texture. This command is available in the Raster Pro and above toolkits.

Syntax

Visual Basic (Declaration)
Public Class PerlinCommand
   Inherits RasterCommand
   Implements IRasterCommand
Visual Basic (Usage) Copy Code
Dim instance As PerlinCommand
C#
public class PerlinCommand : RasterCommand, IRasterCommand
C++/CLI
public ref class PerlinCommand : public RasterCommand, IRasterCommand

Example

Run the PerlinCommand on an image and applies the Perlin filter.

Visual Basic Copy Code
Public Sub PerlinCommandExample()
   RasterCodecs.Startup()
   Dim codecs As New RasterCodecs()
   codecs.ThrowExceptionsOnInvalidImages = True

   Dim leadImage As RasterImage = codecs.Load(LeadtoolsExamples.Common.ImagesPath.Path + "Master.jpg")

   ' Prepare the command
   Dim command As PerlinCommand = New PerlinCommand
   Dim backColor As New RasterColor(0, 0, 0)
   Dim perlinColor As New RasterColor(0, 255, 0)

   command.Seed = 0
   command.Frequency = 16
   command.Iteration = 8
   command.Opacity = 75
   command.Backcolor = backColor
   command.PerlinColor = perlinColor
   command.XCircle = CInt(leadImage.Width / 2)
   command.YCircle = CInt(leadImage.Height / 2)
   command.FreqLayout = 50
   command.DenLayout = 1
   command.PerlinFlags = NoiseLayoutType.PF_Combine Or NoiseLayoutType.PF_Circle
   command.Run(leadImage)
   codecs.Save(leadImage, LeadtoolsExamples.Common.ImagesPath.Path + "Result.jpg", RasterImageFormat.Jpeg, 24)

   RasterCodecs.Shutdown()
End Sub
C# Copy Code
public void PerlinCommandExample()

   // Load an image
   RasterCodecs.Startup();
   RasterCodecs codecs = new RasterCodecs();
   codecs.ThrowExceptionsOnInvalidImages = true;

   RasterImage image = codecs.Load(LeadtoolsExamples.Common.ImagesPath.Path + "Master.jpg");

   // Prepare the command
   PerlinCommand command = new PerlinCommand () ;
   RasterColor backColor   = new RasterColor (0, 0, 0);
   RasterColor perlinColor = new RasterColor (255, 0, 0);
   command.Seed = 0;
   command.Frequency = 16;
   command.Iteration = 8;
   command.Opacity = 75;
   command.Backcolor = backColor;
   command.PerlinColor = perlinColor;
   command.XCircle= image.Width / 2;
   command.YCircle = image.Height / 2;
   command.FreqLayout = 50;
   command.DenLayout = 1;
   command.PerlinFlags = NoiseLayoutType.PF_Difference | NoiseLayoutType.PF_Circle;
   command.Run (image);

   RasterCodecs.Shutdown();
}

Remarks

  • This method uses a pseudo-random number generator in order to create a Perlin noise, and then procedurally transforms that noise into a texture. Depending on the flags that are set, the texture can be saved as an image by itself, or the texture can be combined with another image.
  • This method is similar to the CloudsCommand in that they both use Perlin equations to generate pseudo-random noise, but each method applies different equations to the noise to produce the texture.
  • Use the AddNoiseCommand in order to add random noise to an image.
  • This command supports 12- and 16-bit grayscale and 48- and 64-bit color images. Support for 12- and 16-bit grayscale and 48 and 64 bit color images is available only in the Document/Medical toolkits.
  • This command does not support signed data images.
  • This command does not support 32-bit grayscale images.
