Some of the OCR engines supported by LEADTOOLS (for example, the OcrEngineType.Professional) support saving the recognition results using the engine native save mechanism instead of the LEADTOOLS Document Writers. You can use the native formats and the EngineFormat property to set the format to use when saving the results.

Below you will see the list of native formats of the the OCR Professional engine. You can retrieve these formats by using the GetSupportedEngineFormats method.

Code:

Console.WriteLine($"Supported engine formats with the {ocrEngine.GetType()}:\n");
IOcrDocumentManager ocrDocumentManager = ocrEngine.DocumentManager;
string[] engineFormats = ocrDocumentManager.GetSupportedEngineFormats();
foreach (string engineFormat in engineFormats)
{

    string friendlyName = ocrDocumentManager.GetEngineFormatFriendlyName(engineFormat);
    Console.WriteLine($"\nFormat name:   {engineFormat}\nFriendly engine format name:   {friendlyName}\n");
 }
