LEADTOOLS Multimedia SDK products are specifically designed for the development of audio/video applications across a wide variety of industries including defense, broadcast and security. The SDK offers a full range of technologies to developers and turns normally complex DirectShow & Media Foundation projects into simple tasks. Easily integrate core multimedia functionality such as capture, conversion, streaming and playback into applications with optional processing filters. These filters can be applied at any point of the workflow.

LEADTOOLS Multimedia and available add-ons offer H.264, H.263, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, AAC, VP8 and AC3 codecs, and supports any available DirectShow or Media Foundation audio/video codec. The toolkit also contains and utilizes multiplexers and/or demultiplexers for formats including MP4, AVI, MP3, WMV, MXF, MKV, WebM, 3GP, OGG, FLV (YouTube and HD Flash), IIS Smooth Streaming, ISO, MPEG-2 and MPEG-2 transport stream with KLV. The SDK provides MPEG-2 Transport, IIS, DMO, RTSP and network filters to stream data encoded with any codec. Pause, rewind and fast-forward live capture and UDP or TCP/IP streams with LEADTOOLS DVR technology. Create and burn DVDs with menus, titles and chapters. Push video to Windows Media Server and create dynamic publishing points. Split large files into multiple, smaller pieces for distributed conversion and merge the results with no loss.

Audio and Video Formats for Mobile Devices

LEADTOOLS Multimedia SDK technology provides the latest codecs for creating high quality audio and video files playable on most mobile devices such as the iPod, iPhone, PSP, Zune, ZEN and Mobile Phones. In addition to compressing audio and video content for a wide variety of devices, LEAD compressors are optimized to create the smallest files possible while maintaining the highest possible quality to fit even more audio and video files on mobile devices.

Multimedia for Medical and DICOM Development

The LEADTOOLS Medical Multimedia Module includes the LEADTOOLS Multimedia SDK and a collection of state-of-the-art DirectShow filters and Media Foundation Transforms for compressing and decompressing video and audio data inside DICOM files. It can be added on to the LEADTOOLS Medical and PACS Imaging SDK products and is included in the Medical Imaging Suite. This feature-rich product is designed to eliminate the complexity from converting cine images and video streams to DICOM objects including X-ray Angiography (XA), Ultrasound (US), Visible Light (VL), Secondary Capture (SC) and much more. The LEADTOOLS Medical Multimedia Module utilizes the most advanced compression algorithms used in the industry and approved by the DICOM standard including MPEG-2, HD MPEG-2, Motion JPEG, and Motion JPEG 2000.

DirectShow Filters and Media Foundation Transforms

The LEADTOOLS Multimedia SDK can utilize and control many DirectShow filters and Media Foundation Transforms such as encoders, decoders, multiplexers, demultiplexers, sources, and sinks. DirectShow filters and Media Foundation Transforms are multimedia components that can be used to compress, decompress, process, enhance or stream video and audio data.
