Using the latest free Tiff Tag Editor downloaded from web I see that some images show the x and y resolution as 419430400/2097152 whereas other images have 200/1. The value of 419430400 divided by 2097152 is 200. Can you explain why the resolution may be displayed this way.

The XResolution and YResolution are two Longs represented as numerator/denominator (RATIONAL type).
In your case, there are images represented as (419430400/2097152),
while others represented as (200/1). Most likely, these are the actual
values of the XResolution and YResolution in the image itself, so it
depends on the image not on "Tiff Tag Editor".
If you have reason to believe the actual values are different from
what our program is displaying, please put a sample image in a ZIP or
RAR file and either attach it here or email to support@leadtools.com
along with a link to this post.
