Hello:

We have an application that uses LeadTools v14 to scan documents from an HP scanner and insert their content in a database. Now we have the scanner directly connected to the computer. We want to know if is possible to use LeadTools with a scanner connected to a document server (exactly  AXIS 70U Network Document Server). Now we have that scanner focused only in our application, but the director wants to know if is possible to reuse it for other people. I think LeadTools doesn´t recognize the scanner unless it is connected directly to the computer.

Thank a lot for your help.

Ivan Ontoria.

Where the scanner is physically located is transparent to LEADTOOLS.  Some scanners support being shared over the network, but others don't so it depends on the drivers.  It will need to be accessible to the computer trying to interface with it.  Basically if you can share a scanner with your document server like you can a printer, and the scanners drivers support that kind of interfacing, then LEADTOOLS should be able to use it.
