Hi all,

I'm a very recent user of the LEAD toolkit.
I'm using the version 14.5 to create an Audio/Video conferencing software, this software has to provide these functions :

Serveur side :

- capture a video source chosen by the user (webcam for example)
- compress the stream with a codec chosen by the user (WMV9, DivX, etc...)
- and simultaneously :
send the compressed data on a network
save the compressed data as AVI on a local drive
        localy display the captured stream

Client side :
- receive the compressed stream
- simultaneously :
        display it
save the stream as AVI on a local drive

And I have some problems :
- server side : some compression codec are not working. For example when I choose WMV9, the CaptureCtrl cannot build the graph (very long work then "Insufficient Memory").
With DivX 5.2, the CaptureCtrl crashes when networking and previewing simultaneously.
- server side : how can I save the stream to a file simultaneously with the network ?
- client side : the graph cannot be builded except when I use a LEAD compressor on the server side. For example with a WMV9 filter, le PlayCtrl says it can't build the graph, or it works endless.
With DivX 5.2, the graph is builded but after a very long time, and the client is very unstable (craches, video stalled, etc...)
- client side : how to save the network stream on a local file while watching it ?

Thanks in advance.

The SDK is not restricted to LEAD codecs.  Did you try codecs other than WMV9 or DivX?

To save and send simultaneously on the server, try using a Capture
control to stream the video (the same way we do it in our video
conferencing demos).  You could then use the Convert control
specifying the Capture Control as the source file (ltsf://ip address).
The Convert control would be saving the video to disk while the Capture control acts as the server for streaming the video.
