In this post, I will be illustrating the steps necessary to restrict a user such that they can only see specific configured patient's studies/series.

To start, log into the HTML5 MedicalViewer as an administrator.

Then under the main menu, select the "Config Admin Options" menu item.

In the Behavior section of the global options, you'll want to mark "Enable Patient Restriction" to true. Save this update and close the dialog.

The Role Patient Rights and User Patient Rights dialogs can be used to configure user access to specific files.

You can restrict access to a patient based on the user's role or the individual user. Restricting access via role will allow anyone in that role to access to those studies/series. This cannot be removed from individual users. If you have a user who may need access to additional patients outside of their role (e.g. consult with another physician), access can be granted to the individual user. Simply check mark the patient and click apply. These changes are immediate and will prevent the user from seeing any search results outside of what has been granted.
