There is an option in our HTML5 Medical Web Viewer to query remote PACS servers.

This option enables you to query remote and third-party PACS servers using standard DICOM messaging protocol.

Query Remote PACS option doesn't display images from the remote PACS, it copies them to the local Storage server.

The way the demo (Web Viewer) does it is that the Web Viewer RESTFul service only adds users selected series to the storage servers queue for retrieval. Then the storage server’s Leadtools.Medical.WebViewer.ImageDownloadAddin.dll that processes the retrieve job queue and send the C-Move request to remote PACS. Leadtools.Medical.WebViewer.JobsCleanupAddin.dll is responsible for cleaning the job queue.

What actually happens is the HTML5 MWV adds the request into the shared database with the Storage Server. The Storage Server will poll this to find out when there are jobs to run. When it finds one, it will then try to get the image from the remote PACS by sending C-Move request.

After the series are moved, users can query the local database and they will find the series with their images and can display them.

When adding a new remote PACS server to query from, the Medical Viewer demo prompts you to for the client AE that will be used as SCU to query the server and the server AE, IP address and port. So the client AE (Web Viewer AE) and Storage Server AE (to generate the C-Move request (SCU) and Accept the images (SCP) from remote PACS) should be added (made known) to the remote PACS (SCP) and the remote PACS should be added (made known) to the Storage server (sharing the common database with the Web Viewer) .

For example let's assume that the client AE is L19_WEB_HTML5, the local storage server (C-Move SCU and C-Store SCP in this scenario) AE is L19_PACS_SCP64 and the remote PACS (SCP) AE is L19_SERVER64.
1. Client AE Title L19_WEB_HTML5 and Storage server AE L19_PACS_SCP64 must be added to L19_SERVER64 (Remote PACS) so it can accept connection.
2. L19_SERVER64 (Remote PACS) must be added to the Storage Server "L19_PACS_SCP64" to send C-Move and accept C-Store request.
3. Remote PACS (L19_SERVER64) is added to Medical Web Viewer (L19_WEB_HTML5).
