hello,
I want to know if LeadTools has a .NET control or plug-in for JPEG dicom decoder/encoder that can be used with 3rd party PACS applications.
essentially the developer should be able to pass the inbound compressed image to this decoder and read the dicom tags of the decoder and store the compressed image.
if available is it a part of the medical imaging SDK? or is it available separately.

The current version of LEADTOOLS does not provide a native .NET DICOM
toolkit. This will be added in the next version which will be
released soon. However, I just want to make sure I understand
what exactly you want to do to determine whether we will support it or
not. I understood that you want the ability to process DICOM
files that contain JPEG-compressed pixel data, and extract the pixel
data along with other DICOM information from the file. Is that
correct? If not, then please explain further.

Bashar,
I want to be able to process the compressed JPEG image (read the headers) and store the compressed image during a CStore operation to our PACS server from a modality.
I do not want to uncompress the image when I receive it, just read the headers and store the image as a compressed image. Then during a CStore operation initiated by our PACS server, if another receiving PACS server cannot accept compressed Images, I would then want to be able to uncompress the image into Implicit or explicit little Endian prior to the CStore operation to that PACS server.
Please let me know if you have or will have tools to support this operation.
Also, we recently purchased the medical imaging SDK developer license. If you will have tools to support this operation will we get this as a part of our license or will we have to purchase this separately.
and what is the approximate date for the release of this toolkit?

So you want to take a JPEG image, put it in a data set, and store it in
a PACS server. Optionally, you want to uncompress the image,
insert it in the data set as little endian, then send.
Our Medical Imaging Suite has the functionality to do this, but not in
.NET classes. For now you can use the COM objects in .NET.
Version 15 will include native .NET DICOM classes.
If you already have Medical Imaging, you will need to upgrade to the Suite version to get the DICOM communications support.

We would be interested in the update, but for now could you point me to the set of COM objects within the toolkit that could help in this task?
