I am working with the eval version of the MM toolkit. Is there a way to write a timestamp on each captured frame?

How exactly do you want the timestamp written?
Do you want to impose visible text over the video with the frame's time (modify the pixel data), or is it something else?

Yes, exactly. I've seen a few other controls that do this via a property. I'd like to be able to do the same thing (without needing to buy another product).

There is no pre-defined property to display the time stamps like this,
but you can easily implement it yourself using one of the LEADTOOLS
Multimedia controls along with the LEAD Text Overlay filter.
This filter can display any text on top of the video stream, and it has
a programming interface that you can use to continually change the
text, for example to the current frame position or time code.

Amin,
I need to use this facility also, but I have the LEAD Video Text Overlay filter as part of another graph already created in my VB6 App.
i.e. I am not using ltmmCaptureCtrl etc, because they do not have the facilities I need.
How can I "link to" the LEAD Text Overlay filter already included in this other graph?
I then need to update its Overlay Text every second.
Currently, the text displayed in the overlay is the text the Text Overlay Textbox ( EDIT control ) contained when the graph was FIRST created. i.e. when the overlay filter was added to the graph.
Using ltmmTOvFilter.OverlayText = "My Text" I can change the text for the NEXT time the graph is created; but how do I do this "on the fly", say every second? (The timing of this is OK - the only problem is getting LEAD's filter to recognise and respond immediately to CHANGES written to it by .OverlayText

This is the answer I sent to Kelvin back then. Hope it helps:
The filter should respond immediately when you set the text. I
tried constructing a simple filter graph in GraphEdit that captures
from the screen and then renders. I used the Text Overlay Filter
in between and changed the text. It responded immediately.
If you construct your filter graph in GraphEdit and try the same
thing, does the filter respond immediately?
