Hi,

We are evaluating the multimedia directshow filters and would like to know if there is built in option for encrypting the output of the MPEG2 Transport Multiplexer filter.
I could not found any in regards within the documentation.
If not, is there any other directshow filter (could be not within the multimedia pack) that can do it?

Regards,
Eran

Eran,
Do you mean by 'encrypting' that you want to add a security layer for the video MPEG2 stream produced by the multiplexer?
If yes, we don't have any DirectShow filters that provide this type of encryption for video streams, but you could implement your own encryption scheme to the video data itself if you use our LEAD Video Callback filter. This filter gives you access to the pixel data of every frame in the video stream, which you can modify in any way. You could for example modify the pixels to mask their contents, then do the reverse change at the receiving side.
Of course this will not be easy because compression types used in MPEG2 are always lossy, so your encrypt/decrypt algorithm should make room for that.
