Since obtaining a vector fron a raster image is "image processing" I was wondering if LAED had any tools to convert an image to get a centerline or outline of artifacts in the image. I'm looking for something using B/W images. If LEAD does not have anything does anyone know where I could find a solution. I prefer a API that provides a DLL or even source code on the algorithm.

There is no general function in LEADTOOLS that will work with any arbitrary shape. However, if your requirements can be defined narrowly, we might have useful function to help with that.
Can you give us some sample images and tell us the exact centerline or outline you want to find from these images? Are there common features for the images and the objects, such as shape, count or location within the image?

The attached file shows the centerline (White) generated using CorelDraw x4.
What I would like is the centerline generation and then the centerline corrdinates in a vector form if possible. B/W images are fine for the moment.

I tried attaching a BMP file but the forum said the file was not attached. Is there another way for you to get it?

Using our functions, you can find the outline contour of the objects in the image using edge-detection functions (such as the Contour function) and also the middle centerline using the Skeleton function.
However, the result will consist of pixel data and not vector objects. Please see attached image, which has 3 parts:
1) Original: I constructed this by erasing the center line from the sample you sent
2) Contour result.
3) Skeleton result.
