Feature Description

LEADTOOLS includes Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) audio encoders and decoders for DirectShow and Media Foundation. These codecs allow for compressing and decompressing audio data using the AMR standard.

Adaptive Multi-Rate compression is optimized for encoding and decoding speech and was adopted by 3GPP in 1998. It is now widely used within GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) and UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System). The codec supports background noise cancellation, multiple source rates that adapt on the fly, and error concealment which make the AMR codec ideal for video conferencing and Voice Over IP (VOIP) applications.
