logError Method

Summary

Logs errors to the console without causing errors on older browsers.

Syntax
TypeScript
JavaScript
logError = function(
   arg
)
static logError(
   arg: any
): void;

Parameters

arg

Any argument to log to the console.

Remarks

Any webpage that uses the console in Internet Explorer 9 without the Internet Explorer Development Tools open will cause the page to cease working without any error message. Log, LogError, and LogWarning check for the existence of the console methods each time they are called and only call their respective console methods if they exist.

Because of the associated overhead, use the native console methods if targeting only newer browsers.
