Intelligent Character Recognition for Scanned Documents
The LEADTOOLS ICR modules can convert handwritten text and numbers into machine readable strings and documents. For example, an application using the LEADTOOLS ICR module can convert handwritten reports into PDF* or Word Doc files. The LEADTOOLS ICR Module can be used on the same image as the OCR module. The LEADTOOLS ICR module supports hand written text in many languages, including 15 with dictionary support.
The ICR features are included as an add-on module to extend the functionality of the LEADTOOLS Document Imaging toolkit and the LEADTOOLS OCR Module by exposing the properties, methods, and events for two ICR modules to your applications.

HNR - Hand printed numeral recognition engine is designed for a reduced character set, to improve speed and accuracy. Typical recognition time is 280-310 characters per second (Measured on a computer with 1500 MHz Pentium processor / 256 MB RAM running Windows 2000.) It specializes to recognize the following:
digits (0-9)
plus sign (+)
minus sign (-)
period or full-stop (.)
comma (,)
RER - reRecognition Hand print recognition engine is designed to recognize upper and lower case text, numbers and symbols. Typical recognition time is 150-220 characters per second (Measured on a computer with 1500 MHz Pentium processor / 256 MB RAM running Windows 2000.)

Dictionaries are used to improve recognition results by adding words that may only be in the types of documents being recognized or specialized words that are not in normal communications.

The LEADTOOLS ICR Plus module adds on to the LEADTOOLS OCR Plus module. It provides functions, properties, methods, and events for easily incorporating intelligent character recognition into your OCR applications.

The LEADTOOLS ICR Professional module adds on to the LEADTOOLS OCR Professional module. It provides functions, properties, methods, and events for easily incorporating the fastest and most accurate intelligent character recognition engine into your OCR applications.
