Retrieves a string that contains the capture stream type.

Parameter	Description
pCapture	Pointer to an IltmmCapture interface.
Type	Pointer to a variable to be updated with a string that contains the stream type. Possible values are:
	Value	Meaning
	MEDIATYPE_Stream	The stream is a byte stream with no time stamps. For example, a hardware compressed stream.
	MEDIATYPE_Interleaved	The stream type is interleaved. For example, stream used by Digital Video (DV DV stands for Digital Video and has been defined in "Specification of Consumer-use Digital VCRs" (aka the Blue Book).).
	MEDIATYPE_Video	The stream type is video.

Returns

S_OK	The function was successful.
<> S_OK	An error occurred. Refer to the Error Codes or the HRESULT error codes in the DirectShow documentation.

Comments

The string referenced by Type contains a formatted Globally Unique Identifier (GUID) of the form {xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}.

If the function succeeds, the caller must free the BSTR referenced by Type, by calling the SysFreeString function.
