Retrieves the preferred MPEG2 splitter display name set using IltmmConvert::put_PreferredMPEG2Splitter.

Parameter

Description

pConvert

Pointer to an IltmmConvert interface.

Splitter

Pointer to a string to be updated with the preferred MPEG-2 splitter display name.

Returns

S_OK

The function was successful.

An error occurred. Refer to the Error Codes or the HRESULT error codes in the DirectShow documentation.

Comments

A display name uniquely identifies the splitter (or any filter). Display names for software splitters have the following format: @device:sw:GUID\\GUID, example: Microsoft’s “MPEG-2 Splitter” display name is:

@device:sw:{083863F1-70DE-11D0-BD40-00A0C911CE86}\\{3AE86B20-7BE8-11D1-ABE6-00A0C905F375}

If the method succeeds, the caller must free the returned string by calling the SysFreeString function.

The IltmmConvert::GetPreferredFilter function is a general version of this function, which allows you to get the preferred decoders or demultiplexers for other formats.
