LEADTOOLS eMail features provide support for connecting directly to Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) and Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) servers (Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) is not required) to allow you to quickly add to your application the ability to:
Send messages/commands to an SMTP server
Use the LOGIN mechanism (ESMTP servers) or the USER/PASS mechanism for authentication
Specify the message sender
Compose and send messages using a built-in message-composition dialog box or by directly adding MIME entities (alternative or non-alternative), and examine them
Create/Parse RFC-2822 email message files
Add/Examine encapsulated messages
Encode/Decode Base64- or Quoted-Printable-encoded file attachments
Use/Examine a textual message body, with any format (plain, HTML, etc.) and any character set (US-ASCII, ISO-8859-2, etc.).
Create custom message header fields
Designate multiple individuals as authors of a message, multiple primary, carbon copy, and blind carbon copy recipients; and multiple "Reply-To" mailboxes (singles and groups)
Retrieve messages from POP3 servers
Retrieve the count of messages in the mail drop and their total size, the size and the server-determined unique-ID of a message in the mail drop, or message headers only
Mark messages for deletion on the server
Examine the message textual body and file attachments as well as the headers and bodies of messages and MIME entities
View messages using a message-viewing dialog box
