Leadtools.Windows.Media.Effects Assembly Changes from Version 16.5 to Version 17

In Version 17, this assembly has underdone a major change. This assembly previously implemented effects based on the .NET WPF BitmapEffects classes, which required an unmanaged COM implementation. Microsoft made these base classes obsolete.

In version 17, the COM based BitmapEffects have been dropped from the class library, and replaced with new Pixel Shader 3.0 based ShaderEffects. These Pixel Shader effects execute much faster than the old effects, and can be executed in hardware for systems that have video cards that support PS 3.0.

In addition to the change from BitmapEffects to ShaderEffects, in version 17, this assembly is also available in a version that supports Silverlight development.
