Filters And Codecs Requiring Runtime Licensing

The filters and codecs listed on this page require runtime licenses. You may not deploy or distribute your end user application with any of these filters or codecs unless you first enter into a duplication and distribution agreement. Evaluation versions of these filters and codecs are included with the LEADTOOLS Multimedia setup and will generate an evaluation notice when used and/or will expire after a period of time.

If you are interested getting the licensed version of any of these filters or codecs, you should contact oemsales@leadtools.com to obtain a license agreement. Once the agreement has been executed and returned to LEAD, our support department will provide you with the release version of the individual codec A COmpressor combined with a DECompressor, or encoder and a decoder, which allows you to both compress and decompress that same data. The license to use LEADTOOLS Multimedia without any of the filters and filters listed below is governed by the LEADTOOLS License Agreement ("Hybrid License") and does not require runtime licensing. The LEADTOOLS Standard End-User Software License Agreement (EULA) can be found in the Licensing Help File under the topic "License SDK 17.0".

• LEAD MPEG Audio Encoder Also known as compressor, this is a module or algorithm to compress data. Playing that data back requires a decompressor, or decoder.

• LEAD AC3 The LEAD AC3 Audio Codec is a DirectShow filter that supports the encoding of audio streams using the AC3 standard. The LEAD AC3 encoder provides options to control the quality and the number of output channels. AC3 is a 5.1 format, which means that it provides five full bandwidth channels: front left, front right, center, surround left, and surround right. A low-frequency effect (LFE) channels is included for the sound needed for special effects and action sequences in movies.
